Mazi Chukz features Maleek Berry on New Release: ‘Dem Hail’

It's been a while since we've heard from Mazi Chukz after he released ‘SOS’ featuring Baseman and Ezi Emela last year. 

After a short hiatus, Mazi kicks off 2016 with his latest release ‘Dem Hail’, produced and featuring Maleek Berry of Wizkid's Starboy Entertainment and Berry's Room.

‘Dem Hail’ is Mazi's first single off his forthcoming EP and will detail his experiences he has faced in the music industry, as well as growing up into a man.

The new record hears Mazi and Maleek sing about shutting down the scene, and being hailed whenever they come around. The video for ‘Dem Hail’ will be released shortly, until then... listen to the new track below.

New Video: Wizkid - In My Bed

After pulling a Beyoncé on us by dropping his album unexpectedly last Wednesday, Wizkid has revealed the first video since his album release ‘In My Bed’. 

The album which has been sitting at number 1 on the world iTunes chart since the day of its release has received mixed reviews from fans - some stating that it's his best work yet, whilst others have said that his first album ‘Superstar’ was better. 

Taking on a different approach to his new LP with some upbeat club bangers, including ‘In My Bed’, sounding somewhat European, Wizkid took his new song ‘In My Bed’ to the streets of Miami for the bright coloured video, and then later onto a yatch where he's surrounded by a group of beautiful women as he's living the good life on sea. 

Wizzy is clearly enjoying the fruits of his labour, and is not planning on slowing down for anyone just yet, he'll embark on his UK tour this coming Friday, kicking off at London's IndigO2!

2face Idibia & Wizkid Announced as 2014 Hennessy Artistry Headliners [+ BTS Campaign Video]

Another year, another amazing line-up for the Hennessy Artistry, and this time around - it's a duo.

This year Hennessy Artistry have announced a musical treat for fans that they promise to be one to remember. Teaming up for their first song ever on an incredible project is 2face Idibia and Wizkid. The announcement came earlier this week and has had social media platforms and blogs anticipated for the collaboration. 

Since the Hennessy Artistry was announced in 2007, the likes of Tiwa Savage, Banky W, MI, D'Banj and legend Shina Peters have all headlined, and this year is looking like their biggest one yet. The best one yet? We'll have to wait and see, but my senses are telling me it's going to be a good one.

Speaking on the project, 2face said "Great things!! Eau di vie... We getting it this year!". Whilst Wizkid took to his Instagram account to share his excitement and joy to be finally working with the legend that is 2face saying: "This year's Hennessy Artistry is going to be massive and I am really privileged to be working with legend, 2face Idibia... I can't wait to get into the studio with him!!! Watch this space!"

It was smiles all round for 2face Idibia and Wizkid who seemed to have had a good time recording the song and shooting the official campaign photos at the photo shoot (footage seen below). Both looking dapper in their suits, we can only be patient and wait for what the duo have cooked up for us.

Wizkid Reveals Artwork, Tracklisting to Sophomore Album ‘Ayo (Joy)’

And the wait is over (almost). Wizkid has finally decided to unveil the artwork and tracklisting to his forthcoming sophomore project ‘Ayo’.

Following up from his debut release ‘Superstar’ back in 2011, Wizkid takes things cultural on the album cover, where he is seen in Yoruba traditional attire with three women dressed as Olori's (Princesses) as he champions his Yoruba ancestry.

Wiz took to his instagram page over the weekend to reveal what fans have been waiting for, for over 2 years now. In a recent interview the Starboy also revealed that this will be his last album under record label - EME, before he ventures out to releasing his projects under his own record label - Starboy.

‘Ayo’ the self-titled LP which simply means "joy", doesn't come with a release date as of yet, but has fans buzzing to know that it's coming soon. Femi Kuti, Seyi Shay, Akon, Banky W, Phyno, Tyga and Wale all make feature appearances on the new album, and the album will see production from Sarz, Shizzi, Uhuru, Spellz, Legendury Beatz, Del B, Dr Frabz and Maleek Berry.

With seven songs off the album already released, it'll be interesting to see what Wizkid has up his sleeve with the remaining 12.

Wizkid Announces Headlining UK Tour for September 2014!

Shortly after the announcement of Essex Fest being cancelled, Wizkid has announced his own UK headlining tour scheduled for September 2014. 

It's been two years since Wizkid hit the stage for his own headlined show in the UK at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo. April 2014 saw him as a special guest at label mate Tinie Tempah's UK leg of his ‘Demonstration’ tour alongside duo Krept & Konan. 

The announcement only comes with two dates so far for London and Manchester, and no opening acts or special guests have been announced either. Wizkid's UK fans have been brewing with excitement following this announcement; hopefully his sophomore album comes before the tour kicks off. 

The announcement comes extra special as today's Wizkid's 24th birthday - Happy Birthday to him! Full details about his forthcoming UK tour as seen below!

New Video: Saeon - Boogie Down ft. Wizkid

Another Maleek Berry produced banger at our finger tips, this time for female artist - Saeon signed to Baseline Music.

Switching things up from the normal Afrobeat music videos these days - Saeon unveils her creative side with video director Sesan for her single ‘Boogie Down’ featuring Wizkid. The video comes shortly after she released the single back in February and has a burlesque theme to it from the choreography to the costumes and even down to the venue for her grand burlesque performance.

The video to ‘Boogie Down’ fairly reminds me of certain scenes from the 1976 film ‘Bugsy Malone’, with Saeon being ‘Tallulah’ and Wizkid being ‘Bugsy’. Saeon, Wizkid and Sesan just took me back to my childhood for a hot second.

New Video: Shaydee - Won Gbo Mi ft. Wizkid

Coming off the back of it's release last year and pinned as a freestyle/unofficial single release, EME's Shaydee has premiered the video to ‘Won Gbo Mi’.

As we wait for the arrival of his official single and video, director Jassy Generation takes it to the streets for this rough around the edges, street music video shot in Lagos, Nigeria.

Their fellow EME label mates - Banky W and Niyola make cameo appearances in the video, among others.

‘Won Gbo Mi’ was produced by Starboy duo - Legundary Beatz, check out the dark visuals below.

New Video: L.A.X. - Ginger ft. Wizkid

*sighhh!* Another basic ass Moe Musa music video. What is this?!

To say I'm pleased with this music video would be a lie! After seeing so many behind the scenes photos and little clips here and there from the video shoot shot a few weeks back in London, it got me quite excited to see the official video from L.A.X. and Wizkid. Until it got released today and I pressed play.

What is this?!

Today L.A.X. premiered the official video to his first single ‘Ginger’ under his new record label - Starboy Ent. With a setting this nice, I was expecting for them to use up the whole place and be mad creative, rather we just got a mad basic music video, and nowadays we're used to these music videos from Moe Musa, so I shouldn't be too surprised. It lacked originality and creativity - which is disappointing, especially as the song has so much potentially.

The video to ‘Ginger’ doesn't do the song any justice whatsoever and doesn't keep the viewer engaged from the start to finish - I was looking for that "wow" factor, and didn't seem to have seen it or got it.

Despite the video hitting below the belt, I can't help but realise that Wizkid and L.A.X.'s styling was on point, their outfits were definitely eye-catching and their swag was nothing less than what we'd expect from them. And the models were beautiful. 

Great song from L.A.X. nevertheless though - I can definitely see him owning the dancefloor with this one.

New Video: Wizkid - On Top Your Matter

Ahead of the release of his brand new single ‘One Question’ tomorrow in honour of valentines day. Today sees Wizkid premiere the video to his single ‘On Top Your Matter’, one of his many banging floor-filling anthems produced by Del-B. 

Wizzy delivers a clean, fun and enjoyable music video directed by Sesan, and will hopefully appear on his upcoming sophomore album. Watch and enjoy!

I love the bike scene in this video, reminds me of when we first fell in love with the kid when he released ‘Holla at Your Boy’, back in '09. 

New Music: Starboy - Number One Lover ft. Wizkid & Shaydee

 

Aaah! Music to my ears this is. Legendury Beatz are producers to be reckoned with! 

Wizkid and Shaydee team up for this relaxed dance-hall influenced riddim ‘Number One Lover’ off the Starboy album.

The song will automatically have you vibzing to the track the second the beat drops. Wizkid enlists EME label-mate Shaydee to feature on this two-stepping mellow reggae sweet track. Good music coming from the Starboy and EME camp.

A few of Wizkids' fans have already heard of snippet of the new song titled ‘Eledumare’. As we anticipate for Wizkids' sophomore album to drop anytime soon – this is a nice track for us to jam to. 

New Video: Starboy ft. L.A.X. & Wizkid - Caro

Last night UK based Nigerian singer L.A.X. announced his new signing to Wizkid's record label, Starboy Records. L.A.X. joins producers Maleek Berry and Legundary Beatz on the allstar lineup record label.

Following the big news, earlier today - L.A.X. and Wizkid unveiled their new video to ‘Caro’, shot in London about 2 weeks ago when Wizkid was here. Legundary Beatz produced the infectious tune, and the visuals see the whole of Starboy Records representing in the Moe Musa-directed cut.
