New Music: Dotstar - Wanbi ft. Olamide

It's been a minute or two since we've heard from UK artist Dotstar. Previously a funky house crooner, the 22-year-old has now embarked on his latest journey as an Afrobeat artist.

Dotstar already plans on making a huge comeback this year with his forthcoming EP, ‘The Arcade’, but before that - he drops off the first official release - ‘Wanbi’.

‘Wanbi’ features Nigeria's hottest rapper out right now - Olamide, with production courtesy of Chopstix.

Having previously performed at events such as Koko Concert UK and Funky Live at the Wembley Area, he has also supported international artists such as Fabolous and Tyga - an event that led the YMCMB artist to feature on a self-produced track of Dotstar's entitled ‘Tattoo’, which gained over a million views on YouTube.

‘Wanbi’ a head-bopping club banger is one of Dotstar's best songs yet. With Chopstix on the production and the YBNL CEO - Olamide delivering a fire verse, it's no secret why this song is a fan favourite.

Dotstar who is now signed to AR records alongside Chip, Paigey Cakey, Wretch 32 and more to name a few - has been working on some new material with some of the biggest names in the Afrobeat scene including; Maleek Berry, Sinzu, Wizkid, Shank and R2bees.

Hmm.. We can only be left wondering what's in store for Dotstar, until then - listen to ‘Wanbi’ below!

New Video: Sina Rambo - Mr Icey ft. Olamide & Danagog

Already professed as one of the biggest collaborations of this year so far, rapper Sina Rambo has premiered the official visuals to his new single ‘Mr Icey’.

Featuring baddo himself - Olamide who raps his verse in Yoruba throughout, and HKN musics newly signed act - Danagog the video was shot in one of the luxury hotels in the commercial city of Lagos, directed by the ever creative - Clarence Peters.

The video to ‘Mr Icey’ reminds me somewhat of an early noughties hip-hop and R&B music video - back to the days Ja Rule was reigning the charts, and there was literally no budget for music videos.

In due time we'd get more material from the self-acclaimed Naija Boy With a Yankee Swag, but until then watch the video to ‘Mr Icey’ with cameo appearances from B_Red, K-Switch and many more!

New Music: Sina Rambo - Mr Icey ft. Olamide & Danagog

Today sees the released of Sina Rambo's brand new single - ‘Mr Icey’, which he premiered only minutes ago.

Kicking off his 2014 musical catalogue in such an exciting way - Sina Rambo features rap god Olamide to spit some mean bars on the song, as well as featuring newly signed HKN artist - Danagog on the hook, who seems to have a new school Fuji sound going for him.

‘Mr Icey’ shows off Sina Rambo's versatility to be able to rap in both English and Yoruba, over any kind of beat and still deliver with remarkable verses, and Olamide and Danagog also add their own touch to the song - making it nothing less than a banger!

It'll be interesting to see where Sina Rambo's career takes him in 2014, hopefully we get a full length project from the highly acclaimed rapper soon! Until then, enjoy the material he's firing out like ‘Mr Icey’ listen below!

New Video: Olamide - Turn Up

Such a huge jam from Olamide, ‘Turn Up’ was released earlier this year - along with ‘Durosoke’ and ‘Yemi, My Lover’.

As the year draws to a close - Olamide drops the video to ‘Turn Up’ - where we see him turning up with his peoples on location, and at his October concert in London. This is not my favourite video from the Nigerian singer-rapper, but the song is definitely a banger.

If you're an Afro-Juju/Fuji lover you'll know about Mr Solek. But for those that don't know who he is, let me give you a brief introduction to who the Wonderboy is.

Born Adesoji Adebayo, Solek aka Wonderboy is an Afropop Afrobeat Juju beat-maker, musician, producer, live performer, entertainer, and singer who has been in the music scene since 1995. Adebayo, was born in England was raised in the heartlands of Ibaban (one of the oldest and most powerful cities of Yoruba-land and the scene largest city in Nigeria).

Solek is rated highly not only in the UK but also overseas in countries like the States, Nigeria, and all over Africa as well as the Middle East.

The Wonderboy recently released his single "Won Ti Gbowo Mi De" and has now dropped the official remix video which features Nigerian-based rapper Olamide.

New Music: Ice Prince - VIP + Gimme Dat ft. Burna Boy, Yung L & Olamide

Everything na double, double! Especially in Ice Prince's case!

Choc City rapper - Ice Prince has been giving us that good music recently, and it comes in bundles! Two singles at a time. I don't know if this is towards the release to his new project but I am loving what he's giving us. Today he released two new singles 'VIP' and 'Gimme Dat' which features Burna Boy, Yung L and Olamide, with both songs produced by Chopstix.

Right now I'm loving 'Gimme Dat' (which has a dancehall feel to it) a tad bit more than 'VIP' but both songs are bangers. Listen below and make your own decision on which song you prefer more!
