Deebs & Jarell Perry Prep Collaborative ‘Shift’ EP, Release First Track ‘Relapse’

Last week progressive singer-songwriter Jarell Perry announced a 5-track collaboration EP with Toronto producer, Deebs, entitled ‘Shift’.

Experimental at its core, each track aims to hold captive your emotions over a backdrop of murky bass and bone-rattling percussion.

The duo have shared the first single off the project, ‘Relapse’. The release of ‘Shift’ comes May 19th, with international tour dates to be announced soon.

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here. Jarell Perry has finally released his long awaited ‘White’ EP.

The past few months have seen Jarell Perry establish himself as a leader in the nu-soul movement. Today, his highly anticipated EP ‘White’, has finally arrived. ‘White’ is a dynamic, complex R&B project that accentuates Jarell’s artfully seductive vocals with ethereal soundscapes and pulsing beats, solidifying Jarell Perry as a major creative force to be reckoned with in 2014. 

‘White’, available on all digital formats, puts Jarell’s artistic diversity on full display. The EP leaves no doubt that he is the same artist that won over an international following with his last release, ‘Simple Things’, while still showing the bounds of artistic maturity Jarell has developed since his last record. This latest EP was entirely produced by Jarell’s constant collaborator DJ HSVN, and the creative chemistry from so many hours spent in the studio together is evident and something special to behold. 

Jarell Perry recently wrapped a winter tour with Yuna, during which his opening set won over every crowd he performed in front of. The word quickly got out regarding Jarell’s prowess as a live performer, and after only a few dates the entire sell-out crowd at each stop were there at doors to make sure they didn’t miss a second of his set. Jarell will be at SXSW, and his appearance is already among the most anticipated of the festival. From there, 2014 will only get bigger for the artist as he has multiple releases planned for the year.

New Video: Jarell Perry - Braindead

Today marks the release of ‘Braindead’, the first video off of Jarell Perry's highly anticipated new EP, ‘White’. The artfully seductive visual continues to solidify Jarell as not only a lead of the nu-soul movement, but also a major creative force to be reckoned with in 2014.

His new ‘White’ EP will be released later on this month on all digital platforms and will include Perry's songs ‘Eleven’, ‘Truth Told’, ‘Black Valentine’ - among others which we are still yet to hear. New Music: Jarell Perry - Black Valentine

‘Black Valentine’ is the new single from Jarell Perry's upcoming EP ‘White’. Scheduled to have been released back in January, the project will now be released later this month - digitally, and will be completed with production by his constant collaborator and DJ HSVN.

Jarell Perry is currently on tour with Yuna, and will be at SXSW next month premiering new music from the EP. He will be live on tour this week, tour dates are as listed below:

5 February - Washington D.C.

6 February - Boston

8 February - Brooklyn

Perry will be playing a free show in Los Angeles, next Monday February 10 at The Bootleg Theater.

New Music: Jarell Perry - Truth Told

‘Truth Told’ is the newest song taken from Jarell Perry's forthcoming ‘White’ EP. Today Perry will hit the stage at Joe's Pub performing live in New York City, and will grace the stage on December 30 in san Fransisco.

‘Truth Told’ was produced by HV$N and is a head-bopping, bouncy song with Perry's vocals easily complimenting the song.

Jarell Perry: New Music - ‘Braindead’ + ‘Paris, Tokyo’

R&B artist Jarell Perry's new release ‘Braindead’ is an ode to that moment in a relationship when the words just aren't coming out right. ‘Braindead’ is the second single from Perry's forthcoming ‘White’ EP, the follow-up single to his club banging number ‘Eleven’ featuring Chuck Inglish.

The EP is ready for release in January 2014 and will see Jarell Perry's breathtaking vocals used in a versatile way - showing off his voice like no other. Perry's currently on tour and will hit up New York on December 10 and San Francisco on December 30 - so be sure to look out for him in your cities.

Switching it up for us this time around unlike the song above where he gives us one of his own original pieces, he presents us with a cover of one of Lupe Fiasco's songs ‘Paris, Tokyo’ with a soulful remake for his fans as a gift.

New Music: Jarell Perry - ‘Don't Run From Me’ + ‘Eleven’ ft. Chuck Inglish

‘Don't Run From Me’ is a daunting new song from Jarell Perry and Locksmith. The two have already collaborated on a number of songs, and will be hitting the road together next month for a string of live dates. The pair will hit LA (11/15), New York (12/10), and San Francisco (12/30). Look out for more tour dates to be announced in the coming weeks. 

‘Don't Run From Me’

To paraphrase the boys of Spinal Tap, sometimes 10 isn't enough to turn up. Los Angeles crooner Jarell Perry has teamed up with The Cool Kids' Chuck Inglish to unleash ‘Eleven’, another of Perry's now patented slow burning head nodders. 

The debut single from his upcoming ‘White EP’ - available December 10 - ‘Eleven’ personifies the addictive and equally as toxic one-upmanship of urban pop culture. 

"All I need is more / bring it to eleven," Perry sings, with the same cool confidence that had URB.com swooning over "the sublime perfection in his voice" and others proclaiming that "the future of R&B has arrived" with the release of Perry's debut album, ‘Simple Things’.

Since the release of ‘Simple Things’ in April, Jarell Perry has been hard at work in the studio perfecting his intoxicatingly smooth sound. He'll be unveiling much of the new material - as well as "old" favourites - with a string of gigs to finish out the year, as stated above.

Jarell Perry opens up his LP ‘Simple Things’, with a track titled ‘Win’ even though it was one of the last songs he wrote for the album. 

Perry is already prepping for the December release for his new forthcoming project - his sophomore EP. 

The R&B sensation will be touring this week with Cody ChesnuTT and has already hit up Seattle in Washington and will be in California, Utah, and Colorado for the remaining tour dates.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Jarell Perry finally gives fans what they've been waiting for! The highly anticipated music video to ‘Getaway’ - off his debut LP ‘Simple Things’.

Perry, who hails from Los Angeles is in partnership with business/hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and his new venture All Def Digital.

The dreamy visual, which features elemental scenes of ocean tides and speeding headlights, is as metaphorically open-ended as the song itself. ‘Getaway’ is a dramatic narrative of longing, with melodic vocals that take us on an epic journey - through the destination is partially up to the listener.

Last week Jarell Perry was awarded an ASCA Rhythm & Soul award for his song-writing skills on the hook of Fat Joe and Chris Brown's ‘Another Round’.

Just in time for American Independence day, the ‘Getaway’ star releases a new song ‘4th Of July’ to kick off the Summer.

The soaring vocal uptempo ‘4th Of July’ tells the story of lost-and-found summer love, with marching-band drums, a seductive build and self-reflective lyrics worth building an entirely new album around. Even so, Perry has chosen to release this gem as a stand-alone track.

In addition to new music, Perry has partnered with Russell Simmons and his new venture, All Def Digital, to release an array of fresh visual content. It all begins with the highly anticipated video premier of ‘Getaway’ from the Simple Things LP, slated to drop later this month.

With R&B critics such as veteran Mark Edward Nero raving that "the future of R&B has arrived" - the LA-based singer-songwriter just can't stop releasing new music.

Perry releases an unreleased track from his album the 'Simple Things' sessions and a song so good it seems preposterous that it might have been lost in the vault forever. The illusional power ballad is as hauntingly spectacular and occasionally astounding as the magic tricks played in the games of love, the same ones gorgeously sung about in 'Smoke + Mirrors.'
