The BRIT Awards 2016: Winners (Full List)

The 2016 BRIT Awards was truly an interesting one this year to say the least, held today at London's O2 Arena - Wednesday, 24th February, the BRIT Awards had already stirred up conversation before it even came on live TV. The award show received a lot of back lash from members of the public for lack of diversity and people expressed their point of views and opinions as they trended ‘#BRITSsoWhite’ on Twitter.

The BRITs saw the likes of Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Drake, Little Mix and Adele all perform, whilst Craig David, Lianne La Havas, Cheryl, Major Lazer and others all presented awards.

A tribute to British icon, David Bowie who we lost last month was led by Annie Lennox and close friend to Bowie - Gary Oldman shared his friend's final words, which were “music has been my doorway of perception and the house that I live in”, as he received Bowie's ‘Icon Award’ posthumously.

David Bowie's former band played a medley of hits and shortly after, singer Lorde joined them on stage to perform ‘Life on Mars?’ in his honour.

There was a long list of winners at tonight's award ceremony, including Adele who went home with the most awards of the night, such as ‘Best British Album’ for ‘25’. Adele publicly offered her support to Kesha (who is currently facing a nasty lawsuit with manager, Dr Luke) as she picked up one of her awards by saying: “I'd also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha”. Definitely a noteworthy moment.

One Direction won‘Best British Video’ for ‘Drag Me Down’, while Justin Bieber bagged the ‘International Male Solo Artist’ award presented by past collaborators Major Lazer.

Years and Years whom a lot of people were rooting for lost out to Catfish and The Bottlemen in the ‘British Breakthrough Act’ category. Of course Coldplay went home with an award ‘British Group’.

2014 BET Awards: Winners [Full List]

On Sunday evening in Los Angeles at the Nokia Center, the 2014 BET Awards took place and boy, was it eventful. Stars graced the red carpet in their best dressed, whilst there were pre-show performances from Tinashe, French Montana, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and DJ Khaled to name a few.

Model/stylist Karrueche Tran hosted the official BET Digital live stream and done an okay job especially as it was her first time, and as she's not a presenter. The night was hosted by comedian/actor Chris Rock he kept guests entertained all night with his jokes and banter, some of which I hope no one found offensive - especially Rick Ross. And just like the Oscar awards he took a leaf out of Ellen Degeneres book and handed out food, this time not pizza but the popular Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.

Chris Brown, Pharrell, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, all performed on the night - with powerful couple Beyoncé and Jay Z closing the night with a pre-recorded performance of ‘Partition’ accompanied with a whole new opening verse from Jay, as they are currently on their ‘On The Run’ tour across the States.

Beyoncé, Pharrell and newcomer - August Alsina all won big at the awards as they bagged two awards each. Kerry Washington lost out to Lupita Nyong'o who won 'Best Actress' and first time nominees - African act Davido, and UK duo Krept and Konan won 'Best International Act' in their respected categories.

Congratulations to all those nominated, and those who won! Check the full list of winners below!

Read what BET's Stephen Hill had to say about the award show this year...

“This year’s nominees represent the best of the culture,” Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, said. “It’s great to see our talented new artist’s right alongside our more beloved ones with long careers. We appreciate our BET Awards nomination committee, over 300 strong, for their efforts and congratulate all the nominees.”

2013 MOBO Awards: Nominations Party

Tuesday the MOBO Awards held their annual nomination party and I was in attendance. Weeks prior to the nomination party - I was chosen to be part of this years music panel, alongside some other big names in the music industry in the UK. We had to sit and discuss who got nominated - including their chart success from September 1, 2012 - August 26, 2013. Some of who we chose made the final list, some never. But the experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and it was good to see how artists were chosen to be nominated.

Kanya King and Mobolaji at the MOBO music panel nomination meet - in August.
Tuesday evening commenced with the red carpet, and drinks on arrival. Jessie J, Naughty Boy, Emeli Sande, So Solid Crew and more were all in attendance So Solid Crew opened up the show with a performance of their classic single '21 Seconds' before presenter Sarah-Jane took to the stage to present, later on Kanya King blessing us with a few words. MOBO Unsung winners Insight sang their own rendition of Emeli Sande's 'My Kind of Love', as well as Jahmene Douglas who sang Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' with a special acoustic session.

Check out the pics from Tuesday nights event - and see who I got to meet on the night below...
