New Video: Eva - Deaf

Today sees the release of the video to Eva's much anticipated single ‘Deaf’. Upon the singles release last week - the Nigerian female rapper is the lead of the pack for beautiful Nigerian girls who make rap look sexy in this new video.

‘Deaf’ stands strongly on it's own as an audio, but now with the video accompanying it - the song is sure to be on a lot more peoples lips and have people glued to their screen. This is the lead single off Eva's forthcoming EP and was produced by long time friend and producer Gray Jon'z. The video was directed by Patrick Ellis, in the beautiful city of Lagos - who Eva has also previously worked with on the video to her song ‘Lights Out’.

Eva took it to her twitter account to talk about the new video saying:
"Oh my! It is so good to have a creative idea pop in your head and have God you the most intelligent people to help bring it to life. I am so grateful."

Ain't no other female rapper touching Eva in the Nigerian music industry right now! Definitely the hottest chic out!

New Video: Drox - Mercy ft. Eva

One of Newcastles highly acclaimed DJ's - Drox takes it all the way to West Africa to collaborate with the most successful Lagos-based female rapper Eva Alordiah on ‘Mercy’.

Known to the world as Drox, An(dr)we F(ox)ton's ‘Mercy’ has already entered into Music Weeks urban chart Top 10. A win, win for both Drox and Eva!

Eva has a string of awards to her name and is definitely the biggest female rapper in Nigeria at the moment.

The big new club cut from Drox delivers a bass filled House beat while Eva doesn't hold back on ‘Mercy’ which sees her pushing back at some of the frustrations in her life. With four essential mixes for the dance floor the track is already proving a favourite with DJ's in clubland.

Tracks:
Mercy (Girl On Update Beat Mix)
Mercy (Tek 22 Mix)
Mercy (Jackin Storm Mix)
Mercy (House Mix)

‘Mercy’ the EP mix has been released via Helicopter Records, and is currently available on iTunes! Make sure you grab your copy! This is fire!

New Music: Moses - ‘Love Is In The Air’, ‘Number One’ + ‘Love Letter’ ft. Eva

22 year-old winner of Nigerian Idol 2013, Moses Obi-Adigwe finally makes his long-awaited and hugely anticipated debut with not one, but three excellent new singles ‘Love Is In The Air’, ‘Number One’ and ‘Love Letter’ featuring Eva Alordiah, for our listening pleasure.

Fresh from winning the third annual number Nigerian Idol competition with judges Femi Kuti, Yinka Davies and Jeffrey Daniel all full of praise and critical acclaim for Moses, the Delta State native and first ever male winner of Nigerian Idol has been locked in the studio crafting some excellent records with acclaimed producers DJ Klem and Olaitan Dada, the results of which are these resoundingly captivating and infectious singles from Moses!

‘Love Is In The Air’, produced by DJ Klem is a fresh and bubbly dance tune that is just right for the summer time with its mash-up of lush drum patters and electronic arrangements. ‘Number One’ which is also produced by DJ Klem sees Moses showcasing his smoother and sultry side over the slow-to-mid tempo jazzy salsa number and completing the trio of new music from the Nigerian Idol winner and University of Benin is none other than ‘Love Letter’ which features the one and only Eva Alordiah and is produced by Olaitan Dada.

With all three singles showing a completely different and exciting side to Moses, ‘Love Is In The Air’, ‘Number One’ and ‘Love Letter’ will do amazingly, not only to appeal to the fans he garnered from his winning performances on Nigerian Idol but also to win over new audiences and fans in Nigeria and across Africa.

Review: African Fashion Week London

I had the great privilegde to attend the second annual, two day 'African Fashion Week London' event here in London.
I attended the event as 'Press' because after working there last year (2011) I just couldn't bare to go through that stress again and what not.

On arriving to Spitasfields Market on Saturday 4th August (Day 2) and it was disgustingly packed, emphasis on the 'disgustingly' by the way. The market was really packed, full of life, colour, print and love - models, bloggers, designers (upcoming and so fort),  and just the general public all were in attendance, and some BIG names in the Fashion Industry - some of whom I did not know at all. But all the "who's who's" were there.

[I'll try not to compare last years event to this years one, but I might just have to.]

Fashion is a big thing for us Africans, making an impression is also a bigger thing for us, and at this years AFWL I just felt that it was a tad bit dis-organised. People that had spent money on tickets ended up saying "there was no point in paying for a ticket!". And I understand exactly why they said that. The general public or shall I say those that did not pay for a ticket - easily got to watch a show for free, whether it was the very first show or the Grand Finale.

Such a big open spaced market that probably did have over 10,000 people there over the 2days just felt like a busy market where people were trying to get their things and leave. But these people weren't leaving, just staying and 'chilling'. The fashion itself, some of the clothes did look the same and it felt like I was looking at the same things on the market stalls/tables. But the grand finale show itself I saw different pieces of clothing - some that I'll wear, consider wearing and some that I thought was absolutely hideous!

Anyway's I won't talk too much on that, but I would say overall the show was not bad, not something that I'll attend on a regular basis.
But it was a great networking event, I met some very nice people (including some Nigerian celebs and my all time FAVORITE blogger - Linda Ikeji of 'Linda Ikeji Blog'. I almost fainted lol) and I saw some nice clothing designs.

Check out SOME of my pics from AFWL 2012 and to attend next year? I'll think about it!
