Ah! Welcome to the second instalment of my "weekly" (and I mean that lightly) ‘Saturday Playlist’. 

The idea of the ‘Saturday Playlist’ randomly came to mind one morning and I just thought to put all these great songs that I'm either sent, or loving at that moment into a weekly playlist; to share with the rest of the world.

The first was released on Saturday, 6th February and featured music from Jorja Smith, SNE, Oh Wonder, BOSCO, Snakehips and more to mention. Listen to it here.

As you can see there's been a pause since the first playlist to the second. But I promise it'll be weekly henceforth.

The tracklist for this weeks playlist includes music from UK home grown talent such as Ella Mai, Yxng Bane, Katy B and PBGR to international acts Chris Brown, Kehlani and newcomer Calibrii. A wide variety of musical genres and songs that I think you should be listening to.

[Listen]: PBGR's New EP - ‘4RE PLAY’

If you weren't already familiar with PBGR, now would be a great time to do so. 

As a special gift to their fans (especially the ladies) PBGR present their first project of 2016 ‘4RE PLAY’ pronounced "foreplay". The project serves as a tease of music coming from the duo and the family individually and collectively.

PBGR have revealed the visuals to ‘Oh Well’, featuring fellow East London rappers - Scarper, Mike Bagz and Bruts.

The video takes place in a bowling alley with PBGR, Scarper, Mike Bagz and Bruts among friends, enjoying the moment.

Fans can expect a great amount of music from PBGR this year with follow up visuals and projects.

‘Oh Well’ was directed by Ade OG of the popular music platform; Link Up TV.

PBGR Return With ‘Oh Well’ ft. Scarper, Mike Bagz & Bruts

‘Oh Well’ is the first song from PBGR, marking the duos 2016 return. The East Londoners slowed things down in 2015, as they took to the studio to work on new music, while releasing tracks such as ‘95 Beamer’ in between; and headlining a sold out show.

Swarve and Crunch feature Scarper, Mike Bagz and Bruts on ‘Oh Well’ and once again blusters of their lyrical skills, and ability to express their reality through their music.

Produced by Lin Drop, ‘Oh Well’ details a mindset of not caring about the thoughts and opinions of doubters.

Fans of PBGR can expect a great amount of new music this year, with follow up projects to their 2014 album ‘The Black Market’.

New Video: PBGR - Four Seasons ft. Mike Bagz & Charlie Mase

In the words of Charlie Mase "PBGR yeah? It's cool though, you know that we got this new flow!"

Continuing to bring the heat through their music, East London hip hop duo PBGR have unveiled the video to their single ‘Four Seasons’, a creation by New Arts.

PBGR's Swarve and Crunch, and label mates Mike Bagz and Charlie Mase shot the new video at four different locations over the duration of the four different seasons, tying into the overlying arc  that song expresses; the journey can gift you success at any moment.

‘Four Seasons’ sees the rappers express themselves through their verses, as well as the new visuals capturing each other their personalities in scenes with friends and fellow artists.

The duo are currently working on new music, and a follow up release to their debut LP ‘The Black Market’.

PBGR Announce ‘OTFYM’ Headlining Gig

UK hip hop collective PBGR announced their headlining gig ‘OTFYM’ at London's famous venue 'Birthdays', earlier this week. 

Skep Swarve and Crunch who make up of the group, will take to the stage to perform songs off their debut album‘The Black Market’, as well as old and unreleased material. The duo will be joined on stage by fellow artists of the PBGR Nation: Mo The Artist, Mike Bagz, Charlie Mase, Ayo Wrote and Miraa May; plus special guests. 

The night ‘OTFYM’ (One Time For Ya Mind) is presented by Blvck Diamond Entertainment and PBGR, and is promised to be an awesome night of great music and a consistent vibe throughout.

PBGR who are known for their songs ‘1996’, ‘Well Wishers’, ‘Gas Pedal’ and ‘SMW’ recently released their first track of 2015 ‘Four Seasons’ featuring Mike Bagz and Charlie Mase. 

‘Four Seasons’ sees Crunch and Skep take on an eclectic sound, but stay true to themselves where they stay in touch with reality, offering a relatable account of their version of events to listeners. Crunch and Skep/Swarve Sutton who make up the UK rap group PBGR, cemented their feet in the UK rap industry in 2014 with their debut album ‘The Black Market’. 

Released late summer of last year, PBGR received critical feedback for their amazing body of work, which gained them a whole new set of fans, on top of the ones they already had, in such a short space of time.

The East London hailing duo, enlist their fellow label mates, Mike Bagz and Charlie Mase of the Play Broke Get Rich Movement, to feature on their latest offering ‘Four Seasons’, their first record of 2015.

‘The Black Market’ takes the listener on a journey of brotherhood and relationships and allows outsiders to see the struggle from negative to humble beginnings during their 'come-up'.

Putting behind me the dislocated documentary screening which I was in attendance of a few weeks back (which I will NOT get into), I can't take away from the fact that PBGR have delivered with an astonishing body of work.

Their second project ‘The Black Market’ which has been marketed as a free album is one of their best works yet. 

The London hailing duo - Swarve and Crunch who aren't new names to this blog, have been putting in work over a year and now have their final masterpiece available for free download and is a definite collectors item. Why they gave out such magnum opus for free? I don't know.

Swarve and Crunch bring a whole new sound and approach to the music scene, with their album being described as a representation of the 'new' London. 

Already having being cosigned by UK heavyweights - Mr. Bigz and Ghetts, ‘The Black Market’ is in touch with reality, offering a relatable account of their version of events to listeners. The 15-track project sees PBGR rap about their actuality from relationships to brotherhood to money and social commentary on the 15-track-album.

Keeping things in-house from production to features, PBGR have a few worthy singles on the album including their stand out tracks ‘MindUrStep’, ‘SMW’ and ‘2MRW’. 

They sample the likes of Kp & Envyi's ‘(Shawty) Swing My Way’ on ‘SMW’ and Teedra Moses ‘Backstroke’ and ‘Be Your Girl’ tracks on ‘Second Chance (Interlude)’ – which is a personal favourite track of mine. Not forgetting Pharrell's ‘Frontin'’ on their ‘Second Chance’ record, and that Mos Def sample on the ‘2MRW’ track. It's clear that these guys put thought into their album, even down to the opening of ‘Rearview Mirror’ with the short spoken from Ayo Wrote word that leaves you wanting more.

PBGR open the album with a strong number ‘March’ and close with a reminiscent track ‘Rearview Mirror’, but we can't overlook tracks like ‘Cross The Line’, ‘(soul)itude’, ‘Stockwood’ that show off their exceptional writing skills and lyrical ability, as well as previous fan favourites - ‘Well Wishers’ and ‘Gas Pedal’.

Insightfully written by the duo, and creatively delivered over an array of eclectic beats and sounds ‘The Black Martket’ is an album not to be overlooked, or swept under the rug. Stream ‘The Black Martket’ below courtesy of GrmDaily and download it for free here.

PBGR Debut Video to Their New Single ‘Gas Pedal’ and Announce ‘The Black Market’ Album

Upon seeing the single title to this new number from PBGR, I automatically thought that it'll be a cover to Sage The Gemini's ‘Gas Pedal’. Boy was I wrong!

The London hailing duo won over fans and newcomers with their April release ‘1996’ - a great summer banger set out to make females feel special, where they paid an ode to the ladies in their lives with this old-school R&B theme.

Switching things up from their previous release, Swarve and Crunch have unveiled the visuals to their first single ‘Gas Pedal’ off their highly anticipated debut album ‘The Black Market’. The single is a wake-up call to the scene, where the rappers use their verses to showcase the inevitable; that they are placing their feet right into the door and are ready to be heard.

PBGR are continuing to do things different from the ordinary with their music and brand, as they draw closer to the release of ‘The Black Market’ out later on this month. PBGR continue to up the levels of up and coming acts in the UK rap scene and are giving a lot of people a run for their money. Their forthcoming body of work showcases their talent and their ambitions, where they've taken inspiration from old school hip hop and grime - definitely something that one has never heard before, and definitely something to look forward to.

Introducing... PBGR + New Music ‘1996’

Okay. I've been secretly listening to these guys for a while now and I think it's about time that they got an official introduction to the readers of this blog. I mean, I can't be selfish and keep them all to myself. Can I? LOL!

UK rap duo Skeps Swarve and Crunch make up of the group PBGR, and for the longest time - their music has been in heavy rotation on my iTunes.

Hailing from London - PBGR (Play Broke Get Rich) have really mastered their sound within such a short space of time of their career being in the limelight.  

Already having a wide range of songs, and a strong fanbase - Skeps Swarve and Crunch are upping the levels of the underground UK rap scene with their music, and ‘1996’ being a perfect prime example. 

Already pinned as GrmDaily's "record of the week", ‘1996’ sees Skeps and Crunch pay an ode to the ladies in their lives with this old-school R&B theme. Keeping up with the theme, they take it way back by sampling a Faith Evans' classic ‘Reasons’ in the backdrop; as well as containing elements of Kendrick Lamar's ‘Hol Up’ off ‘Section.80’. 

‘1996’ adds to the list of songs from PBGR including ‘Well Wishers’, ‘La Familia’ and ‘Loss for Words’ featuring Mike Bagz, and the one that made me fall in love with their work ‘Billy the Kid’ featuring Seyi and many more.

Skeps and Crunch have not only shown that they can make feel good music, but have also shown how lyrically blessed they are on the Robbie Anthem production. 

This summer banger is one that will surely make the females feel special.
