Flicks: Magazine Covers Special - Janelle Monae and Brandy!

Recently winning a Grammy award this year with the group fun. Janelle Monae graces the cover of Essence magazine - looking absolutely flawless. Other than her amazing voice, and being signed to Diddy's record label 'Bad Boy' alongside French Montana, Cassie, Kalenna and MGK, Janelle Monae is known for wearing black and white uniformed/tailored suits.

In speaking with Essence magazine, the singer addressed a few things including wearing suits, beauty and new artists that have stepped onto the scene that she loves.

On her decision keeping her body concealed:

"People don't ask Jay-Z to take his shirt off when he rhymes," she says defiantly. Her refusal to let it all hang out is a major part of her attempt to "redefine what it means to be sexy and what it means to be a woman. Showing my skin is not what makes me sexy," she declares. "I like skirts and dresses just like everyone else, but I had a message I needed to put out there. It was up to me to show people and young girls there was another way."

On wearing suits:

"I enjoy the tuxedo and I enjoy suits. They are timeless and transcendent 18th century, 19th century, 20th century all the way to 2719. I think the tuxedo will outlive us.

On how she defines beauty:

"I love givers and when I find out someone is giving somebody else something from the heart... I think people who give their time are some of the most beautiful people that I know."

On new artists that she loves:

"I love Miguel, Frank Ocean, I'm just excited about new artist bringing forward their ideas and continuing on the legacies of some of the greats, the icons, that we were inspired by, that our music was inspired by. Just sharing their voice unfiltered being unafraid to embrace those things and make them unique, remain innovative. I love people who are into big ideas and whatnot. So I am really excited about some of the new artists.

New Music: Brandy - How High

Brandy released an early Christmas gift for her fans early hours on Christmas Day with this new song 'How High'. Even though this song did not appear on Brandy's new album, she still saaaaaaaang in this song and even her alter-ego Bran'Nu dropped a couple bars for us to jam to.

March 29, another Tyler Perry movie will be coming to a theatre near you. But this time, not a Madea inspired one. Perry, enlists Jurnee Smolett-Bell, Lance Gross, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Williams, Robbie Jones and singer Brandy Norwood for 'Temptation: Confessions of A Marriage Counselor'.

The official trailer for the movie has been released and it surely does look interesting.
(Kim Kardashian doesn't seem like a bad actress!)

VH1 Divas 2012!

Last night in Los Angeles, VH1 held their annual yearly - VH1 Divas. This year, the show had performances from Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus and more. The show aired live in the States with showstopping performances and appearances by the likes of LaLa Anthony, Brandy, Jackie Christie who held it down as she interviewed celebs on the purple carpet. Check out some of the pics from both the purple carpet as well as the performances from last nights show.

New Video: Brandy - Wildest Dreams

Wildest Dreams and No Such Thing As Too Late are probably the most played songs in my iTunes folder by Brandy right about now.

Brandy is currently killing the charts and every show she performs at. Her album Two Eleven reached #2 in the charts and even entered the UK charts - oh, so winning Brandy!

With a new video out to Wildest Dreams - even though I quite don't understand the video and it doesn't go with the song, it won't stop me from listening to it.

Flicks: HOT Girls

La La who showed me some love on Twitter this past week was spotted in Hollywood filming the third season of her reality show. "La La's Full Court Life" has been doing extremely well and seems to me that the ratings have been going up every episode. Congrats to ma gurl La La for that. And also a BIG congrats to La La for her new role in the movie 'Baggage Claim' as a main character, with other big names such as Paula Patton & Derek Luke. La La features in this new rom-com by David E Talbert and begins filming soon. More info on that on It's Just Mobolaji real soon!

Evelyn Lozada has moved on quite quickly from the domestic violence incident she was involved in with husband, Chad Ochocinco/Johnson. Ev goes for a darker look with this dark chocolate new hair colour! And I love it, she uploaded the pic via her instagram and has been getting great reviews from it already! Evelyn was also spotted out with her homegirl and fellow Basketball Wives cast member - Shaunie O'Neal  at an event in LA.

Brandy: Covers 'Vibe Vixen' Magazine & Appearance at The Breakfast Club

Two Eleven is the best R&B album out right now! Brandy delivered on that album in every angle. The singer sat down with VIBE Vixen magazine and spoke on the late great Whitney Houston and her final advice to her and when asked if Brandy will ever write a song about Whitney she said not yet. Brandy is looking sexy on the cover and in the full spread.

Brandy whose album Two Eleven got released yesterday also went on the famous Breakfast Club of Power 105.1 in New York City earlier this week (Monday). The singer who appeared on the Breakfast club for the second time this year really braved them as per usual they grilled her but Brandy held her own. Singer Brandy who is prepping for the release of her debut album Two Eleven has been seen on the set of her video shoot to her single 'Wildest Dreams'. Brandy who has been in the studio working with some big names - Frank Ocean, Bangladesh, Sean Garrett just to name a few is set to release her album on the 16th of October of this year.



Family fun day out! Beautiful family Lala Vasquez and her husband Carmelo Anthony were spotted coming from their son Kiyran's modelling event in New York City. The family headed to City Crab, Kiyran who has been modelling for Jordan Kids has been doing well for himself - modelling here and there.Yes little man!!

SPOTTED! Reality show TV stars - Kyle Richards, Nene Leakes and Laura Govan were all spotted hanging together at Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Kyle Richards new boutique in Los Angeles, Kyle by Alene Too.  As much as I LOVE Nene, I am not loving this hairstyle.

Uncle Nas was spotted at the Henieken Red Star Access Philadelphia featuring at The Electric Factory  in Philly over the weekend where he was performing at. Alongside rapper Wale.

If Brandy is releasing singles like this before her album has even dropped, goodness I can't even imagine what the rest of the music on her album Two Eleven is going to sound like. 

The song was produced by Grammy award winning producer, Bangladesh - who also produced Brandy's hit single "Put It Down" featuring Chris Brown. Listen below, Brandy's Two Eleven album drops on October 16th of this year.
